Amy K. Pix (she/her) is an early career sound designer, songwriter/musician and theatre-maker based in Bath. Recent credits include ‘Space Oddity’ by Theatre Royal Bath Theatre School at the egg and ‘Sherlock Holmes and a Christmas Mystery’ by Black Hound Productions at The Irving Studio, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre. She is skilled at creating highly detailed, well-pitched sound designs with a combination of original music, naturalistic and processed sound effects and layered textures.
She has developed her practice through songwriting workshops with Emily Sprague of Florist and Taja Cheek of L’Rain; mentoring with Dinah Mullen and a one-off lecture on feminist listening and the relationship between species with Melanie Wilson. She is particularly interested in centring themes of ecology and climate justice, queerness, and joy.
As well as a sound designer, she is also a composer and songwriter inspired by the likes of Florist and Adrianne Lenker - and her debut EP is coming out in September 2025.
Field recording is a common theme in her work, and she has been inspired by the practice of deep listening ~ attention to our surroundings and the natural world.
In 2025 she will be studying on the BA Sound Arts: Design course at UAL, exploring the use of sound and music in performance and installation. She also recently graduated from Bath Theatre Academy, which trained her in becoming a theatre-maker; giving her excellent skills and knowledge in all aspects of theatre-making; as well as numerous sound design opportunities including being Associate Sound Designer on 'Animal Farm' and 'The Crucible'.
